Reality vs doubt...

At this stage in the game I am humored by people's reaction when I tell them we are moving to Indonesia- their surprise, delight and horror is quite amusing! At the time I speak the words "we're moving", I smile with pride but another side of me says "what the heck did you just say?". It's crazy that I fill with doubt but this strong determined side perks up and says "you heard me! We're committed and we are going!" And that is the truth! I would hate to say when I am 70, "oh I wish we had gone".

No matter what my multiple personalities say, we are going! So that being said I will continue to take the surprise, delight and horror as this adventure girl is not giving in or giving up on this adventure over fear! (and I know my kids will thank us later)...

The cat is out of the bag...

Well it's official, I gave my notice this morning and have notified my amazing team and my direct reports that I am leaving. It has been a very important, fun and challenging 6 years of my life here- I have learned so much and have advanced my career that it is very bittersweet! It's hard to walk away from something so good (they tried to keep me here)! I know that this closing door will lead to a door that will open to the biggest opportunity of my life, my husband's life and our kiddos lives!! An opportunity that cannot be measured and is completely intangible!  
On another exciting note I will soon become a Certified Yoga Instructor! I plan to teach, learn and continue my practice in Indonesia and the countries that I will get to visit. Something amazing about the thought of teaching native children and learning various practices from all over the world! VERY EXCITED!!!

Oh RELIEF...

I am soooooooo excited to say (type) that our medical clearance has been granted and the Medical Director has been notified!!! So relieved to not have to worry any more!! It's pretty much official and I feel I can say that we are going to move across the world and live in the jungle!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, it won't be really official until we are on the plane! My nerves and excitement are truly overwhelming right now! Oh RELIEF!!! Now again on to more steps- visas!

Blizzard ripples...

After our pokes and pain at the hospital our patience was tried once more as we ended up getting bumped twice from our airline due to a blizzard in Denver. The blizzard made waves into the travel world and the ripples were definitely felt by many. I must say how proud I was of my kiddos who sat in the airport anxiously awaiting to get home only to be turned down and sent to yet another hotel- they did SO WELL!!! I, too, was surprised by Mike's and my own understanding and patience to the uncontrollable situation! I think that's the secret- coming to terms with the "uncontrollables" and dealing with them in a positive way. Besides, like I've said before, these situations and the like will be "side effects" to our new lifestyle! Now I know that it's easier said than done and I might feel differently if we get bumped at some point and we then have four other flights to deal with versus one!?
So at this point in the process we wait again to hear if we are really going to move around the world and live in the jungle!! Yet, we are soooo close to finding out a definite yes or no I can smell the rain!! I hope that's a good sign!

Long day of pokes, pain and patience...

We've made through a long day of physicals! The kids did so well!!!  We made it and hopefully passed!
