Around the World in Eight Days: Timika and Tembagapura

It's been a few days from WiFi and civilization as we've been in the jungle literally! From the beaches of Bali we flew to Timika and boarded a helicopter and flew over the mountainous trees to the most interesting place on earth- Tembagapura!
A mine town on a steep, steep mountain so high up that they call it the city in the clouds. There are barracks, a mess hall, a store, a dept store, a highly regarded International school and family housing at the base of the  largest gold and copper mine. Mike and I met people from all over the World- Australia, Chile and Indonesia to name a few! Mike's interview seemed to go well and my nerves were on high based on the anticipation of his reaction to the mine and the people who he will work with! His response upon seeing him afterwards was "that is incredible"- much to my relief!!! While Mike was up at the mine, I spent the day meeting ladies and little ones from all over and was instantly hooked- what an amazing and dynamic group! Our future awaits word from the mine and hope the word is in our favor as we couldn't pass up an opportunity to live and be apart of the "most incredible and interesting place in the World"!!
