Happy Anniversary!!!

Two years ago today our little family landed in Indonesia; an adventure that would change our lives forever. As I sit here in our little home in our jungle-mountain-town, the choppers are flying, the sun is shining and I am humbled. I couldn't have possibly imagined what we had in store for us when we landed, wide-eyed, two years ago.

After this summer's Europe trip, over these two years, we will have averaged well over 50 flights each, been to 4 continents, 25 cities (off the top of my head), made friends from South Africa, Canada, Australia, Chile, Mongolia, China, Ghana, Fiji, New Zealand, Malaysia, Philippines, England and India, just to name a few, oh and of course Indonesia. We have also tried several new delicacies -- some were fantastic, others not so much! We have gone on more excursions than ever thought possible in such a short amount of time! Lastly, we have really been able to experience animals and nature -- some pleasant, some not; yet all great memories.

It has been a whirlwind to say the least. I think every adjective in the dictionary applies to this place and our experiences. But at the end of the day it has been the best decision we have ever made and one that I would never change, if given the chance. Every face and place we have met is a part of us now and we are a part of them -- and it has definitely changed our lives forever.

We are all packed and ready to leave, in 5 days, to visit Italy, Spain and France. We can all say that we are looking forward to great food and seeing the many historical sites but Hannah and Mason cannot wait to see Pompeii -- which is interesting considering it was a Roman town that was desecrated by a volcano, Mt. Vesuvius, in 79 BC -- got to love the Magic Tree House books (thanks to Grandma, Papa and Grandma Gines for the books).

We are looking forward to our future adventures and especially blessed, on this specific day, for the adventures we've had! And as always, to be continued...
